My Top Ten List- engaging way for students to review their notes and texts to determine the most important ideas and concepts learned in a unit of study. Lists represent essential concepts about a topic that students must know and understand to be conversant about the topic. This activity also helps students develop the critical concept of distinguishing between main ideas and details.

Visual Representations of Information
Picture Note Making- Although not all learners find visualizing helpful in their learning, there are many who would not have access to the flow of ideas if it were not for the concrete images they can see. Pictures drawn by students, as well as the ideas written down can be discussed in small groups. Conversation about the topic or concept is usually rich in detail because of the variety of illustrations.
